Some "professional" work from Playdom

What have I been doing with my life as of late? Careerwise? For the past 1.5 years I've been working for Disney Playdom in Palo Alto as an artist. It's awesome, i love it there, yada yada lol. I haven't posted any work I've done just because i got a little lazy. So I started looking through my stuff and decided to  make some "pro" sheets to show off. I've been working on the facebook game Disney's Gnometown for the past.. year and a half. It's a cute fun addicting game! If you haven't played yet check it out! We also have a mobile version as well, so check that out tooooo!

Now onward to art!

I still have more to post, which i will after I'm done arranging them on the sheet of photoshop paper. All of these were done in Illustrator! (the.. uh.. art,  that is) Excuse the fonts and template, I'm still working on that one.. -__-

More to come!

Bellydancer Update

So I forgot to post this up a while ago, I'm actually still working on this and trying to color it up. For APE some friends suggested I keep it black and white, or give it a sepia tone, but i really wanna see this colored! O_O But i'll post what it looks like overall... with sepia.

I think it's one of my most detailed pieces of concept I've done. Mostly I do cartoony things for work etc, but I like that this is different from my other stuff. I obviously put in a ton of time into it. So here it isss not colored :). I'll post another update when it's fully colored and then you can tell me which you like best :P

The Adventures of TJ & Skweek!

Fiiiniiisshheed!......

Ok well mostly finished. :P I had to stop working on it bc I was outta time. I have some small fixes here and there that I'd like to make that i'll do later :P

I finally was able to do a full painted revamp of TJ and Skweek. I changed them a little from how I originally created them and made them more proportionate and cute, etc. So I is happeh. Thank you Cintiq!!!!

Ape is only 2 days away and I had to be done with the painting asap so I could get it to print on time! Oh so tired... sooo tired.

Ice cream time!

Sailor Moon Progress 2

Some adjustments and stuff I did last night, mainly with the background. Messed around with random effects and ideas just to figure out what I wanted.

EDIT: Here's what I did for the night. I just added more stars to the background and started rendering out her face and one of her legs and arm more. I have more shading and rendering to do on her dress and costume. But overall i kind of like where its heading ;) I made her nose slightly smaller. and made her lips a little smaller but wider. I might have to mess around with her lips a lil bit more. Oh and added more shading to her face.

Its cool that i can open up both and compare my progress :P and so can u!

Progress on my Sailor Moon fanart!

I've been working on art stuff the past weekend as much as I could. Unfortunately due to holidays and events I wish I was able to do more, but here's what I've done on my Sailor Moon Fanart! It was done in Illustrator and i still have a bit to do. But thought I'd share my work in progress! ;)

I wanted to do a Sailor Moon piece bc its homage to what got me to jumpstart my illustration skill. I drew a lot as a kid, but Sailor Moon got me obsessed with being an artist :)

Just a widdle update

APE is coming up closer and closer and I'm SOO behind! >_<
So I'm sketching stuff like crazy all at once so I can ink/ paint them soonish. As long as I have a bunch of cool lineart I think that's a good base/ start to where I wanna go with... my stuff... lol. Stay tuned for more!

Just for funnn..!

So I recently made an investment and got a Cintiq. So I'm forcing myself to just paint for the heck of it. Just to find the fun in creating art again since the majority of art I make is work related. So here's a quick speedpaint of TJ. It's off an old sketch I did. A newer one is coming up soon! I figure i should exercise with painting some TJs since I was planning on finally starting on that comic I wanted to do. I might go in later and refine this one.

Lineart was done in Illustrator, painting done in PS :)

Yaaaay Cintiq!! @____@

Bellydancer Progress :)

I've put this off far too long! And I'm finally getting back onto finishing painting her. I also gave her a new face. Here's a progress shot! I'm excited for the outcome of this. I can tell my painting skills have improved since the last time i worked on this painting (which was several months ago).

Check it out yo!

WishB Work

I worked at WishB for about a year and a half on a project called Globworld. I couldn't post up any of the work I got to work on because until about when I left WishB for Booyah! they didn't release anything to the public at that time. So I finally get to show you guys the stuff I worked on while working at WishB! I just recently updated my website with new art from various stuff I worked on.  :)

(Blogger is being a butthead and was making it difficult to put them in the right order. So ignore the strange order of images o_o")

Bellydancer update

I never got to post an update on my bellydancer/ assassin concept. I haven't worked on it in a while due to being busy with life and work. But I had gotten more work on it than the last time i showed progress. There's still a ton to be done and i wanted to redo the face i had on her since i didn't like it and it wasn't what i originally imagined. But yeah here's what it looks like right now. Hopefully after finishing the helmet I can get back on this!

Pinup redo

Several blog posts back I was working on an acrylic painting for my color theory class using a limited palette. I drew a victorianish pinup girl for fun and painted it halfway but never finished it. Since I've been using Illustrator at work I've been wanting to do some personal illustrations using Illustrator, so I thought of revisiting the pinup painting! The lineart is in vector, I was planning on coloring it and making it fancy. So here's what I have so far..

It's still rough lineart. I have a few changes I wanna make to it. I feel like i wanna push something, either the pose or something. Not sure what yet but ill mess with it and see what happens!

Moar Painting Practice!

Continuing on speed paintings. Only in this one I was trying to mess with a little more color. The goal was to make it so there's a focal point. The first 3 i was using the same colors, since i was too afraid to branch out into my own colors. The last one you can see that I made my own composition, even though it's a crappy composition. I was focusing more on what colors to use to make the rocks in the back seem far and the foreground be more noticeable.

Motorcycle Helmet Project Part II

Update on the helmet!

Here's what I have on the helmet so far after doing a paintover concept in Photoshop.

I started out by sketching the scene in white pencil and reg pencil then decided to ink it with a sharpie so i can tell all my lines before painting all of it!

I'm liking how it's turning out so far. :)

Stay tuned for moar!

Wait a sec.....

Am I actually updating and posting on this blog..? Holy cow! Yes i am >_<

LOL annyyhooo here are some screenshots of the work in progress i have for the bellydancer im working on.

Close up.

Ive never tried this technique before. Where u paint the tones in black and white first when go in a new layer and change the layer settings to color. and paint your colors on them. Then build up from there etc. She's not as realistic as i want her to be but I'm workin' on it. Still have a ton of detailing and rendering to do. I didnt have the image at a tilt angle before but i just changed that since the previous one looked a little boring.

So that is that!

Progress...

She's purty hot ain't she?

Work in progress shot! Still slapping on colors on her. Then doing orthographic illustrations so i can start modeling her :)

Motorcycle Helmet... and a silver Sharpie!!

I forgot to post pictures of the motorcycle helmet I did art on! My bf asked me if I could draw a fantastic illustration on his helmet with a silver sharpie and to go crazy with it.. and so I did.. heh heh heh... >:)

I was in a rush to do it bc I wanted to surprise him. So I believe I finished it within 10 hours.. all Sharpie! :D

He sparked me with the ideas since he requested a tiger on one side and a wolf on the other (what can I say he's my muse.. :B)..

He clear coated it with a special clear coat that doesn't have alcohol in it (since alcohol makes sharpie ink run).. and voila!!!

So yesterday I went and bought a helmet for the heck of it.. well for myself, just in case I'll ever need one to ride with him, and am gonna paint the heck out of it! I'm thinking maybe acrylic paint on it. I'd use airbrush if I had an airbrush machine and knew how to do it. I'll just have to wait around til my bday comes ;)
